First win of the season a dandy!

Just got home and totally missed the game, but find a happy ending with a superb debut by Lily in the Cubs victory.

I see Lily starting out very well with the NL Central. Hopefully, he can take this first experience in the National League and adjust his pitching ahead of the adjustments they will make to him. I'm interested to hear everyone else's thoughts on his future going forward based on this first performance....

Lilly was awesome tonight. He didn't have extremely fast stuff, but he threw a lot of strikes and threw a lot of effective pitches. He used the entire strike zone and kept the hitters guessing. There really wasn't a hitter that seemed to get comfortable with Lilly and I was really disappointed to see Howry come in for Lilly's relief.

He did kick *** . He needs to learn when to bunt tho :) for all you little leagers out there , don't bunt with bases loaded :) NL is real ball not that sissy AL crud he will catch on .

I was kinda hoping he was going to strike out, I was afraid of a double play! He needs to take some more BP and work on getting the bunts down... not in the air. The-RIOT did a great job bunting.

Much, MUCH better!!! I'm sold on Ted Lilly, he's going to make some noise this year.

Can't wait to see him at Wrigley monday!

He pitched an awesome game. He had command the entire time he was on the mound. He jumped out in front of most batters he faced. Very good way for him to start the year with the Cubs.

This is the performance I expected from them on Monday! But today they did not have the bombshell of the possible sale and Z's contract.

Lilly should keep it up. He's got a couple things going his way. He's new to the NL, so batters really haven't seen him, and he loses the DH. He's a solid pitcher. He won 15 in the AL East last year, it should definately increase this year.

It was good to see him strike out the side, even though Freel made it an 11 pitch at-bat. Z/Lilly is a good 1/2 punch!

Let's see what Marquis can do today!

Things are looking good...hopefully we'll be just as impressed with Marquis.
