Remember the night of the tornado sirens ('08)?

I was doing some You-Tubing... and came across this video that a fan took of under the stands when the sirens went off....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kVEZSlA-dmo

Be sure to try to watch it all the way through... the spirit of the Cub fans come out in the end! LOL! Only Cub fans would sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" in that situation.... ....

Listen to the background voices, too... there is one point where one of the ushers is trying to calm someone down by saying "DON'T PANIC".... one guy claiming this to be "the perfect storm"...

The water gushing down the ramps from the rains...

Amazing footage!

Wow... I

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJWfwefpinw... I guess I didn't realize they locked everyone in there! Which, I guess makes sense, but... wow!

I do remember the lightning bolt that struck the highrise beyond the center field fence, and Lance Berkman just bolted from first base to the Astros dugout that night. I don't blame him!

We saw what was happening on the field/dugouts... but the youtube videos show what was going on in and under the stands! Crazy stuff!

how can i forget. I was there. it was getting so bad that the Wrigley staffers were letting people waling by on the street into the stadium so they could get out of the nasty weather. and yes, they didn't let people leave until the weather slowed enough to make it safe.

I still cant believe that they started the game back up. talk about stupid

Wow! I didn't know you were at that one. I do agree, it was plain stupid for them to continue the game. After the first time the sirens blew should have been the deciding factor to call that game! And if I remember right, we ended up losing it in a shortened game after 5! It seems like weird things happen when we play those Astros!

Yeah, Hurricane Ike even affected those two teams' games at Houston. They had to move to Milwaukee, where Z got his no-no.

that second one was just downright creepy... the sirens gave me goosebumples!

And in the one.... they seemed to be a little too intoxicated to even realize the danger they were in. (And, for the record, it is "fans" like those that give Cub fans a bad rap)
