Anyone else feel that Marmol is overused?

I feel like everyday Marmol is in the game. He is used in tough situations (which who else would we want in them) but someone else will have to step it up because as many times as he throws I dread a possible injury. We need another arm in the 'pen that will be able to come into those pressure situations to help protect Marmol's arm.

Marmol has around 33 innings pitched, thats hardly overused. Even if he was in AAA most of the first half.

He has close to 75 innings pitched this season if you count his stats from AAA, but he was starting down there as well. It does seem like he is pitching almost every game, and pitching more than 1 inning in those games. But looking at the stat, I guess he doesn't do that as much as it seems. Howry pitched very well as a closer. Hopefully he can keep that up. I also agree w/ needing another leftie.

I guess it just feels like he's pitched more than he actually has.

I think Marmol's pitched a lot, but not overused. He's coming in for a batter here and there, more situational then eating innings. Once Dempster returns he'll get a bit of a breather. Adding a lefty reliever would be a big plus, but the pickings are looking slim...

I think that if he were a little less,he would me more effective.I have noticed lately that his control isnt as sharp as it used to be and his velocity seems down too.Just a little less work for him would help.(I think)

I'm just saying that his stuff seems better when he pitches less.

Marmol is doing fine... and not over used... 20 years ago this didn't matter.

He is (and so are the Cubs) fine.
