Rick Morrissey's articles ususally do nothing but tick me off, but this one gave me goosebumps!!!!

Is it too early to start talking about a Cubs- White Sox World Series?

It probably is. I mean, we're only about 40 percent of the way through the regular season.

(But what if? They're both in first place.)

Even thinking about what Wrigley Field would look like on a late-October evening makes me feel silly. Wrigley's standard late-fall look would best be described as "locked and shuttered." I think I've seen it written that the Cubs last won a World Series 100 years ago. That's a lot of years.

(Yes, but this version is an offensive machine. My goodness, have you been paying attention? Soriano, Theriot, Lee, Ramirez, Fukudome, Soto, et al. That's a recession-proof lineup. Mark DeRosa batted eighth the other night, and he was hitting .301. So it's easy to imagine Wrigley being dressed up in its red-white-and-blue finest. Can you see the auburn ivy? Can you feel the chill in the air?)
I know it's early, but I can't help it...I'm getting a bit "giddy".....

I'm trying to not look too far ahead, but the thought of baseball at Wrigley in late October would be ecstatic.

I know I couldn't concentrate on anything if baseball was going on in late October on the Northside. I been praying for this my whole life and if it does happen, God willing I will be jumping out of my skin with delight.

October is going to be extreme either way... either an extremely exciting time for all for all of us, or an extreme disappointment!
