Brenly

Various reports have Bob Brenly as a candidate to become manager of the Brewers. I'd hate to see Bob go, and wouldn't like rooting against him.

I would have to agree with you on this. When you 1st get new announcers you listen for mistakes and such but overall both BB and Len Kasper have done a very good job IMHO. NY papers have been reporting that Randolf is close to landing the Brewers job. Oh well.... we will see.

Oh, I wouldn't like that move at all! Bob knows this team way too well to work for "the enemy!". I think sometimes he knew the strengths and weaknesses of the team better than Lou did!

The first year, I remember listening to Bob and Len, and it was definately strange. We came from Chip and Steve, who knew the team, knew the management, knew the players. Len and Bob were "newbies" and you could really tell. But, by the end of the year, they had seemed to click...and year by year, they have just gotten better and better.

Didn't Len work for the brewers at one time?

I would rather have Bob in our dugout than Lou .

Actually, Pat Hughes called games for the Brewers when they were still in the AL, and I think he was there when the Brewers were in the Series against the Cards.

Len was with the Brewers from 99'-01'. ... I think Pat came to the Brewers just after they were in the World Series.

i posted this on the bleachers forum

While I would hate to see him go and manage the Brewers, as I love the way he and Kasper work together, its a very smart move for them to hire Brenly to be their manager. He knows the Brewers biggest and most challenging rival (Cubs) inside and out. He sees the Brewers 16 some times a year knows some of their ins and outs, just like every other team in the division. Smart move by the Brewcraps, but I hope he stays

Looks like Brenly's place is safe in the booth for now. The Brewers are going with Ken Macha as their new manager.
