Oswalt seems to be missing his spots quite a bit to start this game!

Now for the Cub debut of Milton Bradley. He takes a tailing fastball away, ball one. Fastball up, 2-0. Fastball misses low and away, 3-0. Green light, pops foul and out of play to the left, 3-1. Fastball fouled back and out of play, 3-2. Grounder to short, Tejada throws out Bradley.

But Soriano puts the Cubs ahead with a homer. No one left on.

Middle 1st, Cubs 1, Astros coming up.

I would agree with that. It seems he's trying to pitch around a few of these guys. Bradley could've taken advantage of the 3-0 and 3-1 pitches when he cam back to the plate, but fouled off those pitches.

Matsui steps in against Zambrano. Big Z throws a fastball high and away, and misses another high and away, 2-0. Fastball inside, 3-0. Fastball inside again, ball four.

Rodriguez steps in. Z throws to first to check on Matsui. Fastball down the middle, strike one. Fastball flown to right, Bradley is there for the first out.

Berkman comes to the plate. He's jammed, foul on a cutter, strike one. Change up misses low, smothered by Soto, 1-1. Throw to first, Matsui's back. Change up misses low, 2-1. Fastball fouled off Soto's mitt, 2-2. Liner over Fontenot for a single, Bradley gets to it and fires back to the infield to hold Matsui at second.

El Caballo takes a fastball away, and Soto comes out to talk.

The 1-0 pitch to Carlos Lee is fouled back on a fastball. Fastball swung and missed, a little high cheese. Excuse me swing, flies to right, Bradley made the catch, Matsui strayed off second, they can turn two, they do! Throw to D-Lee, then to Fontenot to get Matsui doubled off to end the inning.

No runs, a hit, a walk and one left.

End 1st, Cubs 1, Astros 0

On that play, Bradley made it look like he wasn't going to make the catch, deeking Matsui into breaking for the plate. As soon as he catches it, Matsui is hung out to dry.
