North has a new morning show coming up

ComcastSportsNet out of Chicago is getting new look today.... a whole new look... and in early 2009, Mr. North and Dan Jiggets will have "Monsters of the Morning" show on CSN

Every Pro Team Home and Road Game in HD, All Local Studio Shows in HD; Plus - New Logo, New 'CTL' Set, New Website, New 'Fan's Best Friend' Campaign & More

Chicago, IL (September 29, 2008) – Comcast SportsNet Chicago, the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of the Chicago Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs and White Sox, has announced its biggest undertaking since the network launched four years ago with its official transition to an all-digital HD network for all locally-produced CSN programming beginning Wednesday, October 1. In addition, the network will debut a new Chicago Tribune Live studio set, a new network logo, a new graphics, sound and music package, a new website (targeted for Nov. 1), along with a new “Fan’s Best Friend” on-air marketing campaign. James J. Corno, President of Comcast SportsNet Chicago, made the announcement.

“Since we launched Comcast SportsNet Chicago four years ago, our goal has always been to evolve and strengthen our network and these major enhancements definitely keep us on the cutting edge of sports television production,” said Corno. “These changes will enhance the viewing experience for Chicago sports fans and reinforce our network’s leadership position when it comes to covering local sports. With one of the most exciting White Sox and Cubs seasons still in progress, along with the start of what promises to be a thrilling Blackhawks and Bulls season, the timing couldn’t be more perfect to deliver these exciting new elements to our viewers.”

Beginning Wednesday, October 1, viewers can look forward to the following major network enhancements on Comcast SportsNet Chicago:

· Every Bulls, Blackhawks, Cubs and White Sox HOME and AWAY game telecast in HD;

· All locally-produced programming will begin airing in HD (including SportsNite, Chicago Tribune Live, plus – every edition of Blackhawks, Bulls, Cubs and White Sox Pre/Post Game Live, Bears Post Game Live, Bears Blitz, Bears Recap and more);

· New studio set for Chicago Tribune Live featuring a modern and energetic open-area roundtable with separate set locales for talent stand-up reporting segments (Steak n Shake is also the program’s new presenting sponsor);

· Debut of new Comcast SportsNet network logo (new logo reflects the active, athletic and entertaining nature of CSN’s programming);

· New Comcast SportsNet graphics package for all game telecasts and locally-produced studios shows, which will provide a seamless look throughout every pre-game show, game and post-game show;

· New music and sound effects to reflect and underscore the drama and energy of live sports;

· New Website ( filled with enhanced multimedia offerings, talent blogs, breaking news e-mail alerts and more (set to debut November 1);

· 24/7 closed captioning for every game and program;

· New “Fan’s Best Friend” on-air promo campaign (the first spot is currently airing on Comcast SportsNet and online at featuring virtually every CSN on-air talent member…all together in one digitally-enhanced promo shoot);

· Coming in early 2009... Comcast SportsNet will debut Monsters of the Morning: a new, live, three-hour weekday morning show reuniting popular Chicago media personalities Mike North and Dan Jiggetts!

Earlier this spring, Comcast SportsNet began airing every Cubs and White Sox home and road game in HD, along with introducing a new, enhanced, on-air sports ticker. Comcast SportsNet’s fall season gets underway with its first Blackhawks regular season game in HD (the 2008-09 season opener) on Friday, October 10 (at NY Rangers) at 6:00 PM. The first Bulls regular season game on Comcast SportsNet in HD occurs Friday, October 31 (at Boston) at 7:00 PM.
