Is Botchy still the manager for the Giants

If so he needs to be fired. I always thought he was a good manager. You dont walk somebody intentionally to get to Rammy with the game on the line.

I m just kidding about Botchy being fired- he is a good manager- but what a dumb move.

I guess he was thinking that Ramirez is still coming out of a slump and was hoping he's strike out or hit into a double play. That being said I was very surprised they did that, even before Ramirez made them pay for it.

Its the right move if you dont know the Cubs- which we do because we watch them on an everyday basis. I was listening to the Reds announcers the other night and they were just going on and on how great DLEE was, and how is the Cubs best player. And he may be and I think most teams believe this. But when its the seventh inning or later- clutch time- its Rammy time.

Actually, Bochy wasn't expecting Ramirez to ground in to the double play or anything. He just had a pick-your-poison moment. Does he pitch to Lee and risk him getting a clutch base hit to drive in Theriot, or does he walk him, put the double play in order just in case Ramirez grounds one at an infielder for two? He decided to try for the latter, and the dice came up snake-eyes for him.

I would have to agree. Even though the runner was on second, D Lee would have probably hit into a double play. Instead, the Cubs score three runs due to a bonehead managerial move. I cannot and will not complain.

This was the right move. he played it by the book. Its pick your poison like you said, but Lee doesnt usually have the flare for the dramatic if you now what I mean. The wind was blowing in today. The hitters should have been trying to hit the ball on the line or ground balls and that did set up an inning ending DP. He had intenionally walked ARAM earlier to get to Soto, so he definately wasnt showing him disrespect.

Can understand that move, although it didn't work out today, you play the odds, and the scenarios, it seemed like one run was going to win it and Lee has been swining well so put him on and hope the ground ball comes. It didn't thankfully for us, but thats a tribute to our team, we made him make that hard decision. Thats what you get having the best offense in the NL.
