DeRo was a one man wrecking crew against Lilly!

Kinda makes you wonder what was going on in Jim Hendry's head today!

DeRosa went 3-3 against Ted Lilly, including 2 home runs and a double! His first homer, a 2 run shot, was just the second batter of the game! The second was a solo shot that hit the scoreboard!

Woody also got into the game and pitched a scoreless inning as well.

I can't wait until June when they make their return to Wrigley!

Wood admitted he was a bit distracted by having to face his former team:

Quote:
"I had a little more adrenaline than I thought I'd have for a spring training game," Wood said. "It was a little different facing those guys."

One of Wood's pitches was a curve that went behind Alfonso Soriano's head.

"Yeah, I missed him by 6 feet, but I was aiming at his head," Wood joked.

Wood acknowledged he was unable to focus on his pitches because he was facing his old team.

"I ended up just trying to throw strikes instead of trying to throw quality strikes," he said. "I was trying to do too much, but I threw a good slider to [Ryan] Theriot and a good cutter to [Milton] Bradley at the end. I got my work in."

Probably that he made a big mistake and that letting DeRo go is already coming back to bite him in the a$$! Or at least I HOPE that's what he was thinking.

Mara, ever since Hendry made the DeRosa deal, I'm still trying to figure out what was going on in his head. I'm pulling for Woody and DeRosa to do good with the Indians and would like to see them make the playoffs.

psssssssst read my unanswered questions post. Hendry did what he had to do because of Fukudome. Had he worked out like he was supposed to, DeRo and Wood would still be here, Bradley wouild not

Trading a guy at the height of his value??

How dare Hendry!!!

The cub-like thing to do would be completely tarnish his value by playing him out of position and changing his style of hitting, constantly sending him up and down to the minors with contradicting instructions, and then release some PR tape of him beating up Ronnie Woo-Woo to completely destroy his trade value.
