Make that .571 when leading off, with his seeing-eyed grounder at the start of today's game.

It just takes patience to find a pitch he could handle. And once he did, good bye!

Here's a good stat from Muskat's mailbag.

How many of Soriano's 51 leadoff homers led to his team winning the game?
-- Jake C., Round Lake Beach, Ill.

When Soriano hits a leadoff homer, his team has a 35-16 record. The Cubs are 14-5 when he connects in the first inning.

Looks like a good record to me.

still hitting .500 in his first AB of the game, and had a few late inning HRs that Theriot (the fan favorite to leadoff) would not have hit which won us the games

He has already done it 19 times as a Cub? That's insane!

As long as he continues to be more patient at the plate, you will continue to see him produce. I would have to say that his worst at-bat this year was right after Zambrano walked to load the bases, Sori swung at 3 sliders in a row out of the zone. We ended up winning on his home run, but I have to say I was really upset with that 1 at-bat.

Him hitting a game winner off of a slider was shocking to say the least. What a great at-bat that was.
