At this point the cubs are in for some tough choice of who to send down, between Fox, Fuld, Hoff, and now Fontenot they've got a couple games to show something.
Hoff is weak on the high fastball , you will never see it from Suppan.

I don't see Fuld as our Touchdown Jesus but he is a better lead off option than Sori. Ride the hot pony when he falls grab another one and keep going .

Big Z won that game !

I would be happy with Fuld/Johnson tandem as the 4th/5th OF coming off the bench. If the bench were as follows, the cubs would be so much better balanced:

Hill(C) - S
Fox (1b/3b) - RH
Baker (2b/3b) - RH
Blanco (ss) - S
Fuld (OF) - L
Johnson (OF) - R

This is similar to the bench the cubs should have had to begin the year if they didn't waste money on Miles or Gathright. Then the cubs would have had an extra $3-4 million to use at the TDL

I personally think Fox has earned his spot over Hoff. He's three years younger and can play more positions. The only roadblocks to Lou carrying that bench is

1) 12-man staff (Patton)
2) only one true LHP on the bench (Fox has been mashing RHP since he's been up; who knows if Lou thinks about it or has even noticed)

Seriously people, it's getting annoying. I bet half you people didn't even know he was still in the organization to start the year.

At least keep it all the whining in one thread.

He is a crowd favorite. He is kind of like Augie Ojeda. Remember the fans and him. Fuld is a better hitter though. The guy played 2 very good games and we won. He deserved to play today, maybe not in place of Soriano but one of the other two spots.

I dont think he is our answer, but he was getting the job done where Soriano was not. Why not continue to run him out there until he fails. Can he do any worse then Soriano has done lately?

Fuld has had a couple of good games... big deal -- Soriano is payed MILLIONS to hit... he needs to be in the lineup, it's that simple.

Lou has no option but to play him.

Again Im n ot saying he should start over Soriano. We have 2 other very light hitting OFers as well. Last I checked, Fuld can play all 3 spots. He had 2 good games- he deserved to play today. Im not trying to say he is the answer to all of our problems either. But then again he could very well be simillar to Jacoby Elsbury. I understand thats a big stretch but the guy adds some kind of life to this cemetary like offense that we have.
