Bullpen

Have I mentioned that I absolutely hate it? We have one guy out there that I feel comfortable with. This along with our defense are big question marks this year.

Lou's crappy handling of the bullpen is a bigger factor

Pulling Heilman for Cotts??? He'd used almost the whole bullpen by the 9th inning.

Yes, it was a rough 7th for Lou. Heilman has got to be the guy to get it to Marmol. When he brought Kotts into the game Lou pretty much had to use 3 pitchers in the inning- which in turn blew Marmol for the 8th. Vizcaino did a nice job after Marshall walked Feilder, but I have a bad feeling Waveland will have plenty of action with him- Vizcaino- pitching this summer.

Bottom line though, eventhough we went through everyone in the pen just about- it was Greggs game to save and he didnt get the job done . 3 outings now and nothing clean out of him yet. Im not saying he wont be useful to the team, its just hard for me to believe that we won 97 games last year and have 5 new faces in the pen this year.

He did lead the league in blown saves last year.... but I don't want Marmol in the closer spot, I do like him as setup. But something needs to click in that pen.

Its the beginning of the season... pretty much everybody's pen is not going to be in midseason shape. Keeping guys on short chains is not the best idea if lou wants to get these guys regular work.

Lous management today was terrible. Miles over Hoffpauir for a ph???

The horrible pen performance today totally overshadowed Harden's spectacular performance! 10 strikeouts...and he looked great. Too many damn walks by the pen! UGH! And Theriot's defense also kinda killed us today! But kudos to Harden!

The Miles AB and the play by Weaks on Aram's ball were game changers.
