Kendall's Homer

Okay, the HR was awesome- but the kid that got it was a great site to see. He was in awe. Great time at the pld ball park. BTW, has anyone seen Kendall smile this year or ever for that matter. What a gamer!!!!

I was one to agree that he was a solid pick up with playoff experience, and all those stolen bases 95 % was the pitchers not paying attention to the runner on base,I keep hearing on the radio, callers dogin Kendall, well he did it tonight, but thanks to Wuertz and Marmol,we are tied at 9.

I don't think I ever officially said that I didn't like Kendall coming to the Cubs, but I was not a fan of this trade. He has proved me wrong. He's started hitting. I'd still like to see someone throw out a baserunner every once in awhile. The jumps that these runners get are ridiculous.

It's especially pitiful given three of our five starters are southpaws.

I'm disgusted with Rich Hill not holding runners. He acts like he doesn't have to have a move because he can get the guy at the plate out. He throws 2 pitches and if one doesn't work then he's screwed and that happens most of the time. So he allows runners to take 2nd and 3rd then let the hitter pounce all over his mediocre fastball. I'm just really really pissed right now.

I remember going to Wrigley when I was about his age. That right there would have been the greatest thing in my young life.

When I was 8 I went to a game and sat outside the park waiting for the players to come out after the game to get an autograph. It was cold and raining, but I still sat out there for 2 hours. Not a single player stopped. I watched Gracie, Ryno and Hawk all walk by me dripping wet and not even acknowledge me.

I was a little bitter for a while.

There was a report in the Tribune that Kendall wants to return next year with the Cubs, but the Cubs won't make a decision on that until they know whether Soto is ready for the big leagues or not by then.

I would welcome Kendall back also. If Soto is ready, they could split time. They would have two offensive catchers that play good defense and call a good game. Rothschild is responsible for not making his pitchers more aware of the runners on base. If they would just throw over there a few times, it would give the catcher a better chance by shortening up the lead.
