Trade rumor...

http://cubsrumorsandnews.blogspot.com/

Don't know how reliable this is but I think sending Jones, Izzy, and a pitcher is too much for Edgar. I'd much rather keep the depth in OF and give a healthy Izzy a chance. I wouldn't even do it if it were just Jones and Izzy.

The trade seems silly, and the site got the tip from an email? If it was the Edgar Renteria 5 years ago, I'd mildly think about it, but it's a trade that makes no sense for either team.

Yea I know there is probably very little truth to it. Even if we are scouting Edgar I don't think we would offer to much for him. Thought I would kick out the idea anyway and see what people thought of it.

Right on... If they did get JJ, they could start Chipper in left and have the Jones' OF...

There's a guy named Hudson on that roster who needs a serious change of scenery, if there are trade talks with him, it might be worth entertaining...

No way we give up a guy who will probably get 25 HRs (Jones) A gold glove shortstop (IZ) and a pitcher for a middle of the road SS. Sorry I just do not se it happening. I am just not sold on Renteria.

I'd do it in a heart beat for Reyes. Maybe even Rollins.

Still today, Renteria is a better SS than Izturis (in his Gold Glove year), but Izturis has upside, Renteria is 31 and will slowly start going down. Plus JJ and a pitcher seems kind of steep.

But hey, trade rumors are fun to talk about.

Might have been a little bit better offensively. But you have to remember Izzy is a gold glover also. Edgar just has one more than him.
