What Im saying here is that the Cubs are 6-3 under Quade right now. Tram is a great guy too and if the Cubs went on to play .667 baseball or better the rest of the way with Tram at the helm, people would be screaming to keep him. I really think that is why Tram wasnt given the job in first place- in case the Cubs did play superb baseball. After this pathetic year, big Jim better get this choice right. Way too many unknowns with Quade

Just to be the next departing manager that will be surprized about how rough the fans are and how hard it is to win in Chicago.

To many unknowns with Sandberg also. Girardi won a WS in NY with a built team handed to him so the unknowns with him are equal. Brennley won with a WS with the same so the way I see it Quade has a leg up on all of them because he has more experience in the Cubs organization than all comers.
As I said before I think to big of a deal is made about the manager than the player talent around him. You get the talent then you just need a guy to make the right moves and rally the team around him which any of the forementioned candidates qualify.

It does matter when you're not willing to attain top tier players or you've got a ton of money committed to middle of the road players.
Spending on the draft and scouting is the most efficient way to do it. But the Cubs aren't into efficiency, as they've undoubdetly proven.
I'm still waiting to see how the Cubs will be run like the Red Sox, because right now they look like they are closer to the New York Mets model. But of course Ricketts knows the most important aspect in the running the Cubs comes from pleasing the fanbase, so its easy to pay them with lip service.

No one knows which way Ricketts is going to play it yet. Let's hope he does what the Red Sox do. Scratch that I hope he does what the Yankees do.

Actually the Yankees became dominate again while Steinbrener was suspended. His baseball guys ran the team for a year or two and drafted and brought up the best players they have right now. Jeter , Posada

The architect for that Yankees dynasty: Former Cubs manager, Gene Michael.

How are the Cubs going to get a top ten draft pick, pick a guy ranked number 361 in the country so they can save a couple of million if they keep winning???
Hey, but Ricketts is wearing those oversized Harry Carry glasses. Good times!!!
I liked Harry for what he was but celebrating Harry's lifestyle is like celebrating Hemingway's or Sinatra's lifestyle. They'd be huge drunken scumbags if they weren't talented.

And we have the Greek Priest Kenny out building statues and talking about more to come !!! He is going to make Wrigley a museum and feed the idiots that pay $85 for bleacher seats ! That FREAKIN IDIOT has the last word on the new manager !!
Hendry is covering his own ass and letting his buddy Quade-modo audition for a job instead of auditioning new freaking players !!
There is a better chance of Frank Sinatra coming out with a new hit single than this dumbass organization ever winning the World Series !!!
We thought that with a private owner we would get someone like Cuban instead it looks more like the re-birth of Bill Wertz !!!!!
