Post Epstien to the Cubs?

They just talked about it on the Fox broadcast of the ALCS. That would be a major move in the right direction!

ESPN had three sources say it's likely, and two have told the Boston Globe the same thing. Epstein broke one curse, maybe he can take care of another.

Yea , with only 2 steroid monkeys.

He is the big fish , I hope he can do something. What fills me with hope is this hire means either Kenny is gone or completely out of ALL baseball decisions.

From what I heard from Kap on the DP Show, Tom Ricketts told him he'd be running all the baseball operations, and he and Crane would handle the other business decisions.

The issue at hand now is compensation. What do the Cubs have to give up to Boston? Cubs want to give up only cash, the Sox want 2 to 3 prospects. Brett Jackson keeps getting mentioned in the papers. I say pull the trigger on ANYBODY in the minor league system. Prospects are dime a dozen and if any one of them makes in the big leagues, I am willing to take that chance. Five years down the road, if the Cubs still suck and those prospects have great ML careers and couple of rings to boot, then we can all bash it then. We have nothing to lose at this point. Too many times the Corey Pattersons and the Felix Pie's have fallen flat and who's to say that any of these remaining prospects of the Jim Hendry era are worth a damn anyway.

i don't think it will take that much compensaion

The only reason the White Sox got two prospects for Guillen is to avoid the Sox bringing tampering charges against them.
