First axe falls

They just announced on SportsCenter that Mike Quade has been shown the door. Not much details I caught, but it seems that Esptein announced Quade will not return to the Cubs in 2012 as manager. Could we see Ryno instead?

I don't think Epstein's going to hire a big name or fan favorite that he may butt heads with.

I think the manager position is where Ricketts will put his mark. He won't let this turn in to the Boston reunion tour . I am not saying he iwll hand pick a guy and put him on Theo but , more steer him to what he wants , it will be a guy with Cub ties.

Ricketts didn't pay Theo all that money, give up talented prospects for him, then go get his hand picked GM(who will also cost the Cubs something), to then turn around and stick his nose in the baseball side of things. Whoever the Cubs hire as manager, that person will be 100% Theo's call. This is fully Theo's show!

Expect a Mike Maddux, Dale Sveum, Pete Mackanin type of hire. Long time baseball men, with ties to teams with recent success.

Here's a great article about the type of questions Theo is going to be asking, this sounds awesome:

A candidate will watch a tape of a game with the Cubs' brass, who will stop the tape at various junctures to ask the candidate what he would do in a particular situation.
