Today in Cubs history: April 13
1997 At Shea Stadium, the Cubs lose their 13th consecutive game to match the longest losing streak in the franchise's 122-year history. Reliever Turk Wendell, wearing #13, is credited with the loss as the Mets defeat Chicago, 6-3.
And history in the making tonight.... Ryne Sandberg makes his home managerial debut in Peoria with the Peoria Chiefs. He is 3-2 with his new team as they come home to Peoria tonight and Chief fans can welcome their new manager to the city. (Due to not being able to get off work, I won't be making this game, however, my parents are taking my son and were told to take their camera! Hopefully I will get pictures and an update to post when they get home!)
