Bonds 755

Wow- OPPO SHOT

Hershiser called it- he said he came out early today and took extra BP and he seemed locked. If he gets 4 or 5 ABs tonight w/o getting walked- 756 has a good chance of happening.

WOW- My night was ruined by Prince Feilder earlier. This makes it better.

He needs to get to 800. I think Arod will definately reach 800, Braun I have him pegged for about 780 right now, LOL

Imagine this guy who caught the ball today before the game. I mean he is sitting in LF. This might have crossed his mind a little, but the chances are very slim. They just said it would go for 50-75 grand- is that all?????

Did you see Selig? He looked like he was going to throw up! He never once clapped his hands or even smiled! He really looked like he was either going to cry or get sick!

As far as the guy who caught it, I'm sure if he hangs on to it for awhile, the price tag will go up on it for him. Barry is going to want that ball back!

They actually said Barry's son, Nicolia, wanted to get the ball and sell it and give the money to some charity.- I couldnt hear it because my kids were screaming , but it sounded like a pretty cool story.

Selig just gave his statement that either he or a rep from his office will be on hand at all of Barry's games until he takes over the record... based on the innocent until proven guilty mentality.
Quote:
"No matter what anybody thinks of the controversy surrounding this event, Mr. Bonds' achievement is noteworthy and remarkable," Selig said in a statement.

Selig said either he or a representative would attend the Giants' next few games "out of respect for the tradition of the game, the magnitude of the record and the fact that all citizens in this country are innocent until proven guilty."
Although, he made it sound very politically correct...and certainly didn't look too happy when Barry tied it.

I hope they get actual evidence on this guy...even though he already is guilty in everyone's eyes we need real proof. I can't stand him.

The thing that intrigues me so much about Bonds is that he has hit this many homers and still walks a ton. Imagine how many he would have if his eye wasnt so keen at the plate. Think about how many homeruns you see each day on bad pitches. He rarely swings at them. I get so mad when the the fans boo pitchers for not pitching to him. Now Hensley last night was different- he wanted no part, but the majority of the time he walks he is talikng pitches 2-4 inches off the plate, high, low, whatever. He can hit those pitches out too.

I was hoping he never got it and retired before he tarnished the record. Now I have to root for ARod to hurry and break B*nds record.

I ran some numbers in my head over the weekend, and assuming A-Rod averages 35-40 homers a year, and assuming Bonds only gets 25 more homers before he retires after next season (giving him 780), and factoring in another 15 homers for A-Rod in the last two months of this season, A-Rod should pass Bonds somewhere between Aug. 15, 2013, and July 4, 2014 (about six to seven seasons from now).
