"World Baseball Classic"
Yeah or Neah? I Mean..we get roster's w/ an awesome array of talent,& possible showcases for future talents & superstars, but in the aftermath we also can get dead arms,errors,.200 B.A.'s,6.00 ERA's,pulled hamstrings,ACL's,Tommy Johns,& the tender groins! Spring training is lax but a given & meanigfull rite for players on the bubble & rehab & rookies! Do we really need this "classic"? I mean who cares if the U.S.A wins this tournament? I'm all "U.S.A." all the time, but for the fans of MLB,my players on my team should be committed to the team that pays them! Play these games during the offseason! I'll Pass.....

I hate the idea of our pitchers pitching in games that wont help us win the World Series. I think it would be better if this didnt exist.

I don't think much about it either. I was all for it the first time around, but now it's not all that great. All this is, is baseball's attempt to having a full international competition because they won't let their players play in the Olympics. That's the main reason why baseball's been removed from the 2012 London program. The condition for baseball to return in 2016 (hopefully in Chicago) is if major leaguers are allowed to play.

Definately a "nay" for me. Too much chance of injury and it takes away from the time with the team working together to get ready for the season. I heard an interview today on the Score with John Danks of the White Sox. He said he was asked to be a part of it, but he respectfully declined because he really needed to get on the White Sox schedule and get ready for the season. I really wish more players would look at it like that. Especially key players (Zambrano, Rammy, etc.)

Did you hear about what a Canadian newspaper said when Harden backed out? The headline was
"Harden puts Cubs before Country"

It's because he has a slight tear in his shoulder and is behind schedule for his pitching schedule.

The olympics are literally right in the middle of the baseball season. Do you really think they are going to stop the entire MLB season while a handful of players go play some extra games?
At least the WBC coincides with spring training. It's not like the guys participating in it wouldn't be playing anyway. I'm guessing that most of them will treat the games like ST games.
