Some POSITIVE thoughts....

I jumped on the Cubs.com message board for the first time in ages this morning to see the mental state of some of the Cubs Nation fans.... I have a few words for them and the callers that called Dave Kaplan's Cubs post game show in complete panic last night.... STEP AWAY FROM THE LEDGE! DON'T JUMP! DON'T DO IT!!!! (LOL)

Now, last night's game sucked, I can't deny that....Willis was ON last night, and he flat out beat us.

But, with that being said, here are some "Positive thoughts" to start our day...

1. The bullpen...WOW! Wuertz and Hart did an awesome job last night. Their performances were overshadowed by the loss...

2. Monroe finally hit for power for us, and a good time for him to start heating up...

3. For the Reds series...no Dunn, No Griffey...No Freel...all Cub Killers

4. The Padres are fighting for everything they have.... and their pitching tops the Brewers pitching!

5. Tonight's Florida starter, Daniel Barone (1-3, 5.30) takes the ball.
Barone gave up four runs and seven hits in 4 1-3 innings of a 5-1 loss to Atlanta last Wednesday, his first start since Aug. 26. The right-hander is 0-3 with a 8.31 ERA in five starts this season

So, yesterday is gone, the team wants it, the fans want it....and I have to believe we are gonna get it!

I think yesterday's game was a bit of a fluke. I mean, during that four-run second inning, the Marlins barely hit the ball hard. Two bloops from the 8 and 9 hitters? In any other situation, those balls would've been caught. Murton may have played too far back, but that's no excuse for two lucky bloops. One or both caught, the inning would've taken a different tenure.

I am always preaching that the Cubs need to take care of their own business and not to worry about the other teams. But that being said i think this is the biggest factor,

"4. The Padres are fighting for everything they have.... and their pitching tops the Brewers pitching!"

Ryno- I agree on this Hart guy. They read his numbers from the minor leagues this year - amazing. I think he was something like 10-1 in his last 17 games with a mid 2 ERA. Definately promosing.

Ryno,First of all shame on you for going back to that board!I swore never to go back again once I found FogPog.Its pretty cosistent that the Cub don't do well against ace's of opposing pitching staffs and it didn't help that they weren't taking any pitches whatsoever(27 pitches foe Willis in the first 3 inn.)But I won't panic. The odds are in our favor.

Sorry for just checking out the board.... (Heck, I don't even remember my screen name or password there anymore! LOL).... but after hearing the almost "suicidal fans" on Sports Central last night, I figured if that would be the place to go to find the best of the drama queens/kings...and boy was I right. More than half of them have written the season off (because Willis pitched the game of his season last night).

LOL, imagine what it's going to be like after tonight's game if the cubs don't make a valiant comeback.

Me too. It's nothing but bratty kids and life-forms I choose not to associate with. Good riddance.

I agree. Once in a while I will browse through to see if anything I haven't already heard is going on. Nobody on that board can carry on an intelligent conversation without it turning into a pissing contest on every thread.
