I wouldn't agree with that. Jim just screwed up with what trades we did. The Rays are saying all 5 players they got from us WILL see the majors. Fuld helped last year and they expect Archer to be there this year.

Why did we need a starter when we are projected at 71 wins ? Why do we need a closer and a veteran releif pitcher?

There are questions for the trades made since Theoville came to town , Colvin vs Stewart and Marshall vs. T. Wood .

Hak Ju-Lee is the only piece of the Garza trade I regret giving up. Archer is likely targeted for the bullpen, and you can find Sam Fulds anywhere.

The Cubs spent $4 million on the 2009 and 2010 drafts. That's embarrassing. Look at the drafts from 2007 to now and Samardzija and Barney are the biggest impact players. That's very, very bad.

Quality is always better than quantity. I never bought into Wilken's draft philosophy. I'd rather draft and throw money at one or two great sure thing players than scatter money at 10 marginal players.

Good signs , concidering , T. Wood and Wells are sent down. They say " We don't care if you are our guy or if we are paying you $2 million , if you don't perform , you won't be here "

I thought Wells pitched pretty good this spring, just didn't outpitch Samadzija or Volstad.

Thoystein seems set on adding another LHP, now it seems like they are talking to Washington about Lannan or even Gorz. Maybe they did alittle bit of number crunching looking at how LHP fare at Wrigley.
