Hendry just announced it on the air. I think I like it, buit didn't see it coming at all.

They just announced it on ESPN too. His numbers don't look too flashy, hitting .226 with 2 HRs and 22 RBIs. Hopefully a change of scenery will help.

He is pretty familiar with the NL central. He is a good contact hitter as I remember. I'll take him over what we have now.

Pretty much taking him of Oakland's hands and give him Blevens in return. That seems like one of those win/win deals

I think the .989 lifetime fielding % was a big factor in the trade. He has very low passed ball numbers.

When I first heard about this trade, I heard that we gave up Marshall for him. I was furious. Now that I hear who we gave up, I think it is a decent (and unexpected) trade. Just be aware that Kendall isn't quite the Kendall of old this year. Still an upgrade.

He's a career .298 hitter who's only batting .226 this year, but he's solid behind the dish.

Did you just hear that jagbag on Baseball Tonight report that as well. I almost choked on the air I was breathing. My fiance was like, "who is going to be the 5th pitcher now?" I was still trying to comprehend what I had heard. Another reason to hate ESPN. You think he would come out and admit he made an error or something.

As far as the trade goes, I think this is great. Koyie Hill can't hit and Bowen was worthless. I like Soto, but we just need more experience behind the plate and I think this will be a GREAT mentor for him. I really like this pickup and as someone else said I was not expecting it at all.

None of those jokers at ESPN ever no what their talking about. At least they can get the right names once maybe. But to them this is nothing because they are to concerned with whether the Yankees will make the playoffs (they talk about it everyday it drives me nuts. Just SHUT UP BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING NOWHERE), and that other guy on the west coast....you know the one that sat out because he's old....and yelled at the reporters because he sucks.
