Here is a rumor from CNNSI.

Cubs eyeing Royals youngster

There are broadcast reports the Cubs are interested in Kansas City right-hander Zack Greinke, who is 4-5 with a 4.65 ERA in 31 appearances, including seven starts, this season.

Might not be bad depending on who we give up. The kid has loads of potential, if he can avoid his anxiety issues.

As long as we don't give up to much for him I won't mind...I've never really seen him pitch.

I don't think another RH reliever is really needed.
The Cubs already have Dempster coming back in a week and then Wood and Guzman in the works.

This guys stats do not do him justice. He throws 98 with a nasty slider. The emotional problems concern me though. Take it from someone who experienced anxiety attacks for about 3 months, it is very hard to overcome and understand.

If he could turn it around, he could be a solid number 5, better than Marquis IMHO.

His stat line isn't too impressive, but I guess it would depend on what we would have to give up for him. Does anyone know what he's done in his 7 starts? I'm curious to see how many innings he's lasted, seeing as how Marquis tends to make Lou go to the pen awfully early...

There is his game log. He started the year in the rotation, but moved to the pen early. He got rocked just about every time he started.

People around Kansas City seem to love this guy. He can be pretty inconsistant though. If the cubs go after him I feel they'd be better off keeping him in the pen. He seems to be pitching better from there than as a starter. I agree w/ everyone else when they say that he's worth going after if we don't give up too much.
