Cubs starting Russell AGAIN Tuesday

They already had a decreased margin of error with Wells and Cash on the DL. Now they are just throwing games away.

21 games in the books. Our starting lineup has 9 HRs and 5 sbs. Our starting P has to be near the bottom of the league in ERA. The positive is 10 wins. Still searching for that identity.

This is the team's identify, skip. This team is dependent on everybody having an average to above average year and no injuries to for it's best chance at the playoffs.

Throw on top of that the SP is terrible.

DAMN , this team is BORING !! Hell , I have been watching Cards and Yankees Sox and any other team over the sucky Cubs. I can only sit through a few innings before I turn the channel.

I thought checking my phone last night it would be the night Russell broke 5 innings especially against a somewhat-forfeit lineup. Guess not.

I've never seen a team with worse luck scoring runs. Cubs are 4th in total bases, 2nd in BA, 6th on OBP and SLG. It's obviously weighted by the excellent job the top of the order has done, and the terrible job the middle of the lineup is doing. Pena, Soto, Aram, and Byrd all slugging under 400. Cubs are also the least patient team in the NL.

Watching Coleman and Russell has been really hard to do. I know Russell is better suited to be a LH reliever but one would think out of 4 or 5 starts he might have some luck with some line drives finding gloves. He actually wasnt that bad last night. A huge 2 out hit by Sands sealed his fate. Coleman, on the other hand, just doesnt have the stuff needed to be a starter. He has good control but his walk totals are ridiculous because he cant strike anyone out. I cant remember anyone having so many 8- 10 pitch plus at bats against them.

The scoring- I think it basically shows how important HRs and walks are in todays game. Doubles are big but it takes another hit to score that runner.

What I am haveing a hard time with , Skip , is the smoke Quade keeps blowing up my ass. I am tired of his rose-colored-glasses approach. Every move made this year has been wrong. Garza may work out and not be that bad but everything else was just stupid.

This is the first time in 40 yrs that I really can't bear to watch a game let alone a couple of innings. They have nothing to hold my attention and are just plain boring. No identity, no hitting, no pitching. I like Quade and feel for him. He's got nothing to work with and has to tow the line.

I don't like Ricketts so far. They are broke and don't look like they are going to spend money especially when they claim not yo have it. WE deserve better and I'm sick and tired of looking like an idiot loser for being a Cubs fan. I'm tired of trying to defend my loyalty to this crap.

Even with Wells and Cashner healthy I don't think they are better than a 500 team.

Thank God for the Bulls

12 hits, all singles, no XBH

I've never seen such a punchless team.

Gotta love Koyie Hill first-pitch swinging when he hasn't played in awhile and after Carpenter walks Castro. What baseball IQ!!

You don't think the walk was intentional to get to a fresh off the bench 150 hitter , that you would blow fastballs by and not give him a chance to catch up ? He should have took the first fastball to get a better guess at the speed.

This team was out classed in all ways from a better team. The pitching by Big Z was the only exception . Who was surprised that Soto would go down this early ? I loved the way they played the Cubs defense like a fiddle when they were on base .

I was happy to be watching the Bulls mostly.
