Cool Jason Marquis

I hope that yesterday's game quiets the Marquis critics . It really gets old to hear some dip**** go on and on about how bad Jason is .

He is a fifth starter and one of the best fifth starters in the NL . If he is allowed to pitch his game , on the road is best , he can get his outs and eat innings and that is all you want from your # 5 guy .

I'm not a Marquis fan. But you're right he's a #5, what more can we ask for? He is a solid road pitcher who will win 11 games this season. I'll take it. I think with Marquis people remember his salary and that's what gets on peoples nerves. Either way he shut me up quick yesterday.

His salary is another one of Hendry's great moves . Could you imagine what he would get in today's pitching deficient market ?

He does not look at that bad of a buy considering what the Brewers just paid for 10 win from CC.

It usually happens way before now. Hell, we only have a month left in the season. Even if he doesn't win the rest of the way out, he is still a better #5 than damn near any other team.

I agree and I think he has been great about 60-70% of the time which is way more than you should be able to count on your #5 for. If I find myself annoyed when he doesn't pitch well or has a bad start, then I remind myself of Shawn Estes and then I feel better. That is my comparison and reality check. THAT is why I have no problem with the results we get from Jason Marquis.

Yeah I know, it must be the sports psychologist he's seeing.
