The Buzz from Wrigley today

I was just listening to ESPN 1000 on my way home from work and this was the word from wrigley:;

1. Team has a workout at 5pm today
2. 3 teams are highly interested in Izturis and a deal could be done soon, and when that happens, we will see Cedeno brought back up.
3. Geovanny Soto is about to come up from Iowa
4. Demp will not come off DL until at least the Giants series
5. Kerry Wood is progressing well and is very close to being sent out on a rehab stint...

Can't wait to see Soto and see what he can do. I'm also interested in seeing what Cedeno has done to improve his swing and hopefully his defense. If Wood comes off the DL I expect him to go right back on it....but if not he could help the 'pen.

I like Soto. He's got a good bat and a solid behind the plate.

I'd rather see Theriot and Fontenot get the time at SS.

Who's this Wood ellow you speak of?

To be perfectly honest, I'm not at all comfortable with Cedeno coming back. His defense would have had to improve tremendously from before, for me to want him back.

If the Barrett trade is any indication, your dead on.

What do you mean? Another one-sided trade?

No . I mean the way Barrett's value went down prior to his trade. Just like Corey Patterson, they are devalued to the point of Hendry accepting AA or AAA players in return. I'm not saying Bowen is a AAA player, but he is a really bad hitter. I just don't get why JH trades these guys when their value is so low it yields nothing tangible in return.
