One positive today

Cubs are one game closer to the end of the Izturis experiment. Cedeno is not very good, but at least has upside.

Izturiz has done good so far this season. He's 5-15 with 3 doubles, which is pretty good for someone batting in the 8th spot. He's also done fine defensivly. I don't see why you'd want him gone this early.

Izturis has batted well. Did not do so fine defensively today with 3 Errors. I do not see him being replaced yet though.

Oh god, can we please stop the Izturis hating? I guess not. Last year it was Jones (still is) and now its Izturis! I'm getting really mad when I hear this crap one week into the season. True he made 3 errors today but he has a track record that Cedeno doesn't. "Lets trade Soriano, he isn't hitting home-runs every game." or "lets trade our only good left handed hitter becuase he made 4 bad throws last season due to bone chips". I had enough of this last year. Its time we take things into prospective and realize the season is only 1 week old. I was truly thinking this thread was about the only good thing that happened in todays game. The clutch hitting by DeRosa Lee and Floyd in the 9th.

I hated him all last year and now I do again after today. He does do good batting in the 8th spot and only the 8th spot, so he better go back there soon. Maybe Ronny will get to play tomorrow!

Well, I didn't realize he had 3 errors today. Sorry, I only saw the end of the game because of school.

But I still don't think that these kind of things should be talked about this early in the season. As I said the Cubs do need to work on some things. Sure, they really need to work on them now and get going, but it isn't time to say, "Let's get rid of Izturiz" already. And also, this team is a team that will do much better in warm weather because we're filled with a lot of power hitters. I think ryno will agree with me about yesterday being absolutly freezing at Wrigley. I mean, there were actual fluries.

So yes, we do need to get going, but now is a bit too premature to talk about getting rid of guys.

Same here! I hate coming home from school and turning on the TV and finding out I missed a lot of stuff (although we didn't do anything in today's game) and only seeing like the 8-9 innings. I wish I was home schooled, plus no jerky sox fans to deal with!

Freezing...yep, still waiting for the toes to start to thaw. I'm glad that my section pretty much cleared out because I had to constantly keep moving just to be able to focus on the game... and I had layers upon layers of clothes on and the little chemical hand warmers in my hat, shoes, waistline, gloves, and pockets. Once the wind shifted and really started to blow in from the lake, it was miserable, so I can not even imagine the players out there where they can't wear their coats.
