This is very serious problem for the NLDS

Lou's persistence to continue using Howry in close games just makes me scratch my head.Equally Howry throwing a hitter like the Brews Left Fielder a fast ball right down the middle makes me do the same.He really has a breaking pitch. He used it to strike out Fielder as well as a Met earlier in the week.Actually it's a pretty good one.Why does he not use it more? I predict if this happens in a playoff game,he will be hammered. Can you imagine such a pitch against Manny?

i doubt Lou would use him in a close game when it actually matters.

8th would have been Marmol today, not wuertz
9th would have been Wood, not Howry

the entire bench BP pitched today.

Lou has only been pitching Howry in close situations lately because he wants Howry to get comfortable now in that situation, as opposed to a tight situation in a playoff game. Lou looks for consistency, and I think the only reason Howry's been on such a long leash with him is because he's a proven veteran. But when it comes down to a late inning, tight situation, I doubt Lou will use Howry, and I will be shocked if he actually does (unless it's an extra inning game where Howry has to be used, then I'll just be worried).

I hope you guys are right. I do not want to see him used in a playoff game. When I saw that he made the playoff roster, I blew a gasket!

That makes total sense to me.

I know you can make the argument that he was only out there because he wanted to save Marmol and Wood, but I get the impression that Lou likes Howry. I think putting him on the playoff roster is a huge mistake, because Lou will be tempted to use him at the most inappropriate time. I wouldn't be surprised to see Howry cost us a game.
