I don't mind the stretch... it is a part of the "atmosphere" at Wrigley, but for goodness sakes, put someone who has a love for the Cubs up there. Don't put someone up there that you have to give instructions....OR THE WORDS TO THE SONG....to!
Leave the other celebrities to throwing out the first pitch, as when you are at Wrigley at a game, you are lucky to be able to catch all of the ceremonial first pitches because you are scrambling to get your snacks (or beer), or talking with your new neighbors about the team, or just soaking in the atmosphere.....not to mention, there is usually quite a few "first pitches".... all of which the only thing I really pay attention to is to see which rookie has to be out there to catch it.
Put former Cubs up there.... put celebrities who are known for their love of the team (John Cusak, Vince Vaughn, etc...) I love when they have former players up there.
But for goodness sake....DO NOT PUT BOB UECKER UP IN THAT BOOTH AGAIN! Or Ozzy! Or Jeff Gordon..... or those American Girls Singers!
