The Fray's Wrigley Field Video blog!

I thought this was pretty cool. The group, The Fray, were the guest conductors at one of the Cubs games last summer, and they video taped their experience....leading up to the 7th inning stretch.

You know....it is kinda neat to see all of the "celebrities"....however, many of them do not realize what an honor and priviledge it is to be up in that booth leading that song. I think that the Cubs need to only have people up there who have some sort of knowledge of the team....let alone the game.....

Wasn't it Jeff Gordon who said "Wrigley Stadium"?
And Ozzy Osbourne who didn't even know the words to Take me out to the Ballgame?
Ditka...well, he's forgiven, as he himself is a Chicgao icon

I have to say, the one I enjoyed the most all year, was the guy who won the contest to get up there and sing it. He was up there for each and every one of us....and he knew and understood the significance of what he was doing.

I wish that they would do away with it. It has become a forum for every jackass to exploite himself for future fame. It's been 10 years, let it go.

I don't mind the stretch... it is a part of the "atmosphere" at Wrigley, but for goodness sakes, put someone who has a love for the Cubs up there. Don't put someone up there that you have to give instructions....OR THE WORDS TO THE SONG....to!

Leave the other celebrities to throwing out the first pitch, as when you are at Wrigley at a game, you are lucky to be able to catch all of the ceremonial first pitches because you are scrambling to get your snacks (or beer), or talking with your new neighbors about the team, or just soaking in the atmosphere.....not to mention, there is usually quite a few "first pitches".... all of which the only thing I really pay attention to is to see which rookie has to be out there to catch it.

Put former Cubs up there.... put celebrities who are known for their love of the team (John Cusak, Vince Vaughn, etc...) I love when they have former players up there.

But for goodness sake....DO NOT PUT BOB UECKER UP IN THAT BOOTH AGAIN! Or Ozzy! Or Jeff Gordon..... or those American Girls Singers!

I say just give the job permanently to Ron Santo. He's a lot like what Harry was during his last few years on earth!
