Brewers claim McGehee off waivers

from cubs.com:

Quote:
Casey McGehee played his first games for the Cubs in September. As it turns out, they were probably his last.
The rival Brewers claimed McGehee off waivers on Wednesday. The third baseman hit .167 (4-for-24) in nine games as a September callup, mainly giving All-Star Aramis Ramirez a breather down the stretch. McGehee, 26, had previously batted .296 with 12 home runs and 92 RBIs for Triple-A Iowa in 2008 to earn his first big league promotion.

The Cubs drafted McGehee in the 10th round of the 2003 First-Year Player Draft. He is currently playing in the Mexican Pacific League, hitting .294 with one homer in 11 games.

With Ramirez signed through 2011, McGehee didn't have much of an opening at third base with the Cubs.
