Angry How bad is Soriano ??

I have thought long and hard about this and I think Soriano may be the worst contract in the history of baseball.

From what I have seen of him he looks horrible.

my list would be Soriano , Zito , Carlos Lee , Alex Rios , Fukudome

LMAO !! Great Point ! You haven't heard much of that discussion. My money says the Yankees will be paying him a $1,000,000,000,000!

Somebody please explain to me why Fukudome's contract is 'one of the worst in history'.

We can talk about bad contracts all we want to and Soriano's is pretty bad, but nothing compared to the guy that pitched yesterday for the Cubs- Silva makes 12 mill a yr- and he really has had only one to two decent seasons

What really got me was Hendry outbid himself by about 40 mil for Soriano's services. No other team was going to offer much more than 90 mil. At least the Bears got it right with the Peppers deal. They can get out of it after three years. The Cubs are stuck with Soriano for five more very long seasons.

Four years at $12MM per year for a 258 AVG 400 SLG 367 OBP is a little extreme but his 988 FPCT may offset some of the ugly on the deal. You may have me there. These stats would be fine for a centerfielder but not a corner guy . I am just so damn pissed that we will not get any power production from our corners.

Spray a can of Crap-be-Gone in left and put Colvin in there.

I agree Fukudome is overpaid, or more accurately will be the next two years.

I think a Fukudome/Nady platoon (IF Nady is ever able to play the outfield) will be worth the money.

As for Colvin, I wish people would hold back there excitement. I hope I'm wrong, but until he learns how to take a walk, he'll never more than a 4th OF. Players with a .320 OBP in the minors usually don't have successful major league careers.

Either LAA or Phil was offering 7 yrs/119 million; can't remember which.

Sorry, Mike Hampton's deal was way worse! At least we got some production out of Soriano...
