I used to be really into wresting....WWE and Indy. As a matter of fact, a couple of the guys I got to know through the local "indy" wrestling company have made it to the big time (CM Punk, and Shawn Davari)...
I haven't really followed it since it branched off in so many different ways. I used to love watching the Hardy Boys, of course The Rock and Triple H and Stone Cold. I really loved Edge and Christian. If I am flipping through channels and come across it, I will watch it, but I don't make it a point to try to watch Raw and Smackdown every week.

Funny story, my ex and I were at a Smackdown in Peoria, IL and we were with a few friends. This was Randy Orton's debut.... I looked at one of my female friends and said "Oh, my god.... this guy.... he is the next generation of Rock".... my ex rolled his eyes and said "give him a year, he'll be out of the business"........ hmmmmmm, DAMN I hate being right!

I hope your ex realizes that if some young wrestler has a connection to the business, including being a second- or third-generation wrestler (i.e. The Rock, Orton, Dustin and Cody Rhoads, the Hart family, the late Curt Hennig), the WWE will develop you as a superstar.
In one of my examples above, Dwayne Johnson was introduced as Rocky Maivia as a double homage to his father Rocky Johnson and his grandfather High Chief Maivia. However, he wasn't too happy with the way the WWE writers had him portrayed (a Samoan like his grandfather) and wanted a little more edge. So, he shortened his ring name to The Rock and stradled the line between babyface and heel. He alligned himself with the Nation of Domination (a little takeoff of the Nation of Islam) and with The Corporation (Vince McMahon's first foray into bad guy status) as a heel, and then made himself as a rebel as a babyface.
You probably know that Triple H and Stephanie McMahon had a child last year sometime. Just think if that kid ever decides to enter the family business as either a superstar or in the board room.
