Tough, rough split of a series

First of all, the pitching staff needs to start holding runners better. I dont know how many times lately the opposing team has had an uncontested stolen base.

Second- Im glad to see Philly get out of town. I mean Howard basically did nothing the whole series and they are missing Utley and Victorino. They knocked our starters out after 5, 6, 4 and 2/3, and 2 and 2/3. Our bullpen was amazing until Ohman in the ninth today. They are a good ball club that i would just soon see next year. They flat out hit. Burrell- all I ever hear is how he is an underachiever, always on the trading block,- he kills us.
Hopefully they will carry this over the weekend. We have the Mets coming to town. Another tough team.

I'll take the split. They were another hot team in the majors. 3 out of 4 would have been nice but I'll take the split.

I would rather a split than lose 3 of 4. I wanted 3 of 4 but Philly is hot, and I think a split is pretty good.

I don't think anyone can really complain of a split. It just sucks that Ohman took us out of he game in the 9th. I had a feeling we could put 1 or 2 across in the bottom of the 9th until Ohman took all the momentum from us. Its also tough to swollow letting them score 7 in the first 3 innings while Howard and Rowand were pretty much shut down this game.

I could not agree more. I thought we were in for a good close game after the first inning. I thought it showed a lot of character clawing back to 7-6. Who knows how the bottom of the ninth would have came out, but it is harder to come back from 4 than from 1. Ohman just killed all momentum.

I was just thinking before the ninth...."We can come back and win this game." But I just had a gut feeling that someone (OH-MAN) would make it unreachable.....and he did just that.

Im happy with the split especially after we were manhandled by Hamels in the first game. We showed heart in coming back today too- down 7-1. We hit into a couple of dps that hurt but still had chances. We had big 2 out hits all day. Our OF is not seeing the ball well right now. One ball almost hit JJ right in the head today. It may have been the sun. I couldnt believe more balls didnt go out today with the wind blowing out.

this wont get any better agaisnt the mets... especially with kendall behind the plate...

we play the mets pretty good at home... we have won 9 out of 12 at home the last 4 years... plus we have our 1 and 2 pitchers going
