Exclamation I'M GLAD THAT THE ABORTION IS OVER

I couldn't even watch a full game this yr without throwing up. It's time for Ricketts to get his act together. The honeymoon is over and so far he sucks worse than the Tribune company.

Ummm...Ricketts has spent more on amateur talent and player developtment than pretty much every other big market team this year, and the Cubs rank 2/3 in all of baseball in spending on international free agents this year.

Tampa Bay is going to have the best rotation in baseball for less than $10 million total. It sure is nice to have an owner that acknowledges there is an increasing return in the future major leagues for every dollar spent on amateur talent.

I was an early critic of Ricketts, but I'm glad he's making his own decisions and is not influenced by what the fans or media thinks. Best of all, he knows that he is new to the whole game, but he's been trying to learn as much as possible like being in the draft room on draft day and visiting the Cubs latin american camps and acadamies, and all the minor league affiliates. The only thing I'm really not a fan of is trying to get public $$$ for Wrigley Field.

ha, of course I'm looking at this from a libertarian/fiscal conservative perspective, not what I would personally do if I owned the team.

From an economic impact to the county perspective , he can make a case that it would be in the best interest for the city to help expand Wrigley in seating and vendor positions. The city , if life was fair , would have a hard time saying no ,seeing they own the Cell and allow the Sox to get the revenue from naming rights and only pay minimal rent.He would have a hard time saying clubhouse and batting cages would fit in with the same plan.

This is kind of the duality of Cub Fans.

Many of them want to 'win now' and at the same time rebuild and play the young talent, but are unwilling to sit through a couple of seasons like this one. If you want the cubs to re-build through young talent, expect a couple of more years of this.

The whole current roster was built based upon the 'WIN NOW' impatience from the fans and management. Ricketts is trying to be alot more patient and build a long-term plan for the team, not repeating the mistakes of the past 10 years.

Duality my ass speak for yourself. Tell me that the Yankees and Red Sox have these issues. The Cubs are not a small market team that needs to build thru their farm system. It's your kind of thinking that gives excuses for everything that this organization does.
