Unhappy I Feel Bad For Dusty

all he needed was what the cubs are doing now (knock on wood) and he never got it. i know the cubs are probably selling the team but spending 200 million this offseason you would think they had so money before then.

thoughts?

i know but after 2003, we did not go after anyone. dont say beltran, we gave him like 80 million. all we did was sosa, and lets not talk about last year. he wasnt given a team. dusty had the same influence. he made it to a world series and then led the cubs to the NLCS. damn u alex gonzalez

I think Dusty made some poor moves along the way, but you would have to say the Cubs would have been a much better team the last couple years if the organization would have spent the money like they have this offseason, not to mention getting hit by the injury-bug all the time didn't help. Let's just hope it doesn't happen again this year.

Lets just hope, because we can't say. I always say that we are gonna be good the next year. But I think this year, we are.

Before I die, if not, the world is gonna end. If we don't win a WS by the time I am 50, (16 now). The cubs organization should just cancel itself.

I liked dusty but i cant feel sorry for him too much simply b/c he basically inherited the 03 team and the quality of play has gone down steadily since. He's good at managing people to get along with each other but instructing them on how to play major league baseball is where i think he comes up a little short, and thats what this team needed most. This team didnt play like an mlb team until late july if memory serves. way too little, way too late. LP will get the younger guys whipped into shape faster and actually might work on fundamentals in spring training instead of april and may.
