Well last season didn't particularly finish the way that i would of hoped, but like the Cubs last season, it's over its in the past and now I'm looking to the future, so on to 2009-2010.

Eric Mangini Gone.....GOOD
Brett Favre Gone.......GOOD

Let's start with a fresher look, Rex Ryan has a absolute ton of potential, he plays the kind of defense that will go down well in New York, very agressive, something we haven't seen under Bob Sutton. Now we need a off-season plan, so here is what i would do personally:

First off, stop with all these plug-gap QB's, we don't want a Collins, or a Warner, or a Garcia, we need a young QB, who we can build the team around, I'm perfectly happy to stick with what we have, Brett Ratliff has amazing upside, the management love him, the scouts love him, and from what we saw last pre-season he has talent:

Quote:
Ratliff, in case you struggled in finding the overall numbers, had a strong 2008 preseason. He was 32-for-47 for 499 yards with an AFC-best four TDs and a conference-best 122.5 rating.
He is also 6'5 around 230, so has great size, let him and Clemens fight it out in pre-season, i fully expect Ratliff to win it, we will be a defense and run first team, but having a QB with a good arm to sell the play-action is vital, and believe me Ratliff has a rocket.

I would then make a run at some secondary help through the FA, Jim Leohnard from Baltimore, Dunta Robinson from Houston, both will be FA this off-season, and we are rumored to be looking at Bart Scott to play ILB next to David Harris. Then add defense and a tall WR through the draft, maybe a Vontae Davis or a Brian Cushing through the draft in the first round, or the guy Kenny Britt from Rutgers in the 2nd.

Possibilities are endless, we are not far away, we need to get a WR, a ILB a S and a CB, all do-able this off-season. Maybe get a pass rushing DE to rotate with Coleman to stop wear and tear on the season. I would be agains't drafting a punter in the late rounds, T.J Colney in the 6th would be a good choice, the guy has a great boot on him.
