World Baseball Classic... who is playing?

So far I have heard that there are no Cubs on the US team.

The only player from the Cubs that I have heard that is participating is Fukudome.

His not being in Spring Training may be a good thing for him.
1. He wont be near Lou who seems to have had it with him.
2. He may get a confident boost by being with his countrymen, and he may get his swing back.

Anyone else yo know of that is playing?

I thought Aramis Ramirez said he planned to, but that was a while ago so I'm not sure.

Cubs players have been all over the place on whether or not they'd play in the WBC. So expect more changes to come. But right now, I think scheduled to play are: Dempster(Canada), Soriano(DR), Marmol(DR), Fukudome(Japan) ..... Reports are that the following players are strongly considering playing: Lee(USA), Soto(PR), Harden(Canada), Zambrano(Ven).

So it seems the teams we'll be rooting for in the WBC are the USA, Canada, Dominican, Venezuela and Japan.

I am a little concerned about that too. I'm very concerned about possible injuries though. From what I've heard and read, it's the players Bims listed and most likely Aramis will be playing for the Dominican team too. The WBC goes from 3/5 to 3/23, so I'll miss seeing them at ST. Hopefully they will get a few ST games in before the 3/5 start of the WBC.
